Preston Consulting                             specializing in international sports communications
On August 31, 2012, a total of 12 high school and college American football teams from the United States will showcase American football in three venues in the city of Dublin, Ireland.  

Preston Consulting is providing a full media relations service that includes onsite resources and is creating media exposure in the U.S. and Ireland, while driving overseas travel to the event and local attendance.  

Media are being encouraged to travel from the U.S. to Ireland to cover the event and a live webcast and potential television broadcast will be supervised and assisted by Preston Consulting.

In addition to playing the first game of American football on the African continent before 20,000 curious spectators in Tanzania, the student athletes of Drake University and the CONADEIP schools in Mexico worked in orphanages, enjoyed wildlife safaris and experienced the climb to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Events
The IFAF Senior World Championship is the showpiece event of the IFAF calendar and is played every four years.  Preston Consulting provided resources to the host nation PR team, focused on U.S. coverage of the event and generated significant social media interest in the 2011 tournament through Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

2011 IFAF Senior World Championship by the numbers:
  • 97,656 – total attendance in Austria in 2011
  • 3.04 million - viewers watched ORF (Austria) television coverage
  • 2.9 million - viewers watched Eurosport 2 television coverage
  • 419, 517 – viewers for online game webcasts 
  • 230,921 - American football fans visited the official IFAF website during Gold Medal Game 
  • 33,925 - IFAF social media followers engaged through Facebook and Twitter 
  • 86,776 – views of YouTube videos of the medal games
  • 28 – countries whose fans bought tickets for the event, traveling to Austria from nations including Australia, Japan, Mexico, USA, Canada, UK, Sweden, Norway, Brazil
  • 175 – countries whose football fans watched the official webcast
  • Top 5 countries for live webcast views: Austria 148,526; Germany 65,432; Mexico 47,004; United States 35,061; Japan 21,216 

In the summer of 2009 a roster of former football players from the University of Notre Dame traveled to Tokyo as the Notre Dame Football Legends under famed head coach Lou Holtz to play the Japanese national team before 21,080 fans in the Tokyo Dome.

Preston Consulting coordinated media services in the United States and Japan as national media in both countries focused on the event.  Media coverage was achieved across a wide spectrum from the Wall Street Journal to CBS College Sports and from Mike & Mike In The Morning on ESPN Radio to the Daily Yomiuri (circulation 10M) in Japan.
